Since our power is on after the big windstorm last night, I thought I'd give the local tree count - 9 down. We're honing in on that view of Mt. Rainier w/every new storm system.
It was a spectacular evening here, with big sparking lightshows in the sky over South Seattle as transformers blew down, and loud bangs and crunches for the duration, probably into the wee hours...I fell asleep at 1:30, so I don't know when it finally quit.
In our neighborhood, all 9 trees came down in a two block stretch, and while nerves were shaken, I don't think anyone around here was injured. If you want to see a slideshow of it click on the link below. It may load a bit slow on dial-up, fyi.
